When Power Trip® first launched in 2019, it was a groundbreaking initiative shaped by thorough research and meaningful discussions with district administrators. We gained valuable insights from expert conference speakers and personal, one-on-one conversations during industry events. From this, a powerful story unfolded—one that highlighted the unique challenges women face as they rise to district leadership, balancing professional demands with personal responsibilities.

Ideas such as mindful leadership and emotional intelligence were making a strong comeback in both educational and national conversations. However, as the pandemic emerged, wellness took center stage across the country with unprecedented urgency. During this period of transformation, Big Deal Media took the lead in recognizing the critical connection between well-being and effective leadership. We not only acknowledged its significance but also provided a platform to put well-being into practice.

Looking ahead, the 2027 program will remain dedicated to fostering the vital relationship between well-being and strong leadership.

Register

  • Complimentary shuttle transportation to Miraval will be provided for guests arriving at AUS on Sunday, July 18, 2027. Shuttles depart every hour, on the hour, from 10 AM–5 PM. If you arrive outside of these shuttle times, Miraval can assist in arranging private transportation to the resort. Fees will apply. Complimentary shuttles to the airport on Wednesday, July 21, will depart the resort at 12 PM and 2 PM.

  • The goal of Power Trip is to bring together female district leaders in a unique way to focus on becoming more effective leaders, communicators, and agents of change. Power Trip is an invitation-only experience. Although the pace is intentionally restorative, there are all-group sessions during the day, as well as evening activities from which to choose as part of the summit. Based on previous Power Trips, we know that much of the “power” comes from our focused time together and our commitment to the professional growth of each other. As a result, Power Trip attendance is limited to district leader registrants only. Based on our agreement with the Miraval Austin, each attendee is provided single-occupancy accommodations. This includes round-trip transportation from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), all meals and snacks, taxes, resort fees, and participation in scheduled activities.

  • Miraval will notify you approximately 60 days prior to Power Trip along with a personal confirmation number. At that time you are able to make reservations for spa services and activities. We encourage you to make reservations sooner rather than later. After you confirm your initial schedule through the online portal, all changes must be made via phone, email, or the chat option on the website. Activities and fees subject to change.

  • Power Trip check-in at Miraval Austin is 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 18, 2027. Should you arrive earlier, the resort will store your luggage until your room is available at 3:00 PM. You will have access to the property, including lunch, activities scheduled that day, fitness facilities, and pool. Spa treatments, with reservations made in advance, are also available. Payment for spa treatments is the responsibility of the summit attendee.

  • Yes, if you want to get the most value from your Power Trip experience. You’ll want to plan your travel to arrive in time for all Sunday evening activities (beginning at 5:00 PM) and stay through the final summit session ending at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, July 21, 2027.

  • A variety of movement options are offered throughout the day, so you will need comfortable clothes and shoes. We recommend bringing swimwear. For the afternoon summit and our evening dinners, you’ll want to include “resort casual” clothes. Of course, bring your business cards.

  • Miraval Austin is well-known for its relaxed atmosphere. This eliminates the need for items you might otherwise feel you need, such as business attire. Each room is supplied with complimentary amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. A hair dryer and robe are also in your room for your convenience. Please note that the resort is device-free in most spaces. If you choose to bring a laptop, you will leave it in your room. We encourage you to truly unplug and be present.

  • Miraval Austin is committed to digital mindfulness. It believes “their digital device-free resort lets guests participate in the Miraval Austin experience free of distraction—and gives you permission to fully unplug.” With this in mind, you may want to bring a book, journal, or watch.

  • In the interest of health and well-being, Miraval Austin is a nonsmoking facility.
